With a central vacuum, a few inlets spread across the hall are enough to cover the whole surface: plug in a long hose and vacuum confetti, crumbs and debris in one pass. A high-capacity central unit, placed in a utility room, takes the volume without clogging. The vacuumed air is never blown back into the hall or occupied spaces: it is discharged where the central unit sits — a utility room, a ventilated crawl space or outside, depending on the installation.
